Using the Wecon Blog

These terms govern your use of the Wecon Blog (“the Site”). By reading, signing up, or interacting with the Site, you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use the Site.

§ 01About the site

The Wecon Blog is an editorial publication operated by Wecon at wecon.dev. The Site publishes long-form writing on backend engineering, infrastructure, and adjacent topics.

Identification and hosting information are available on the Legal notice page.

§ 02Who can use the site

Reading articles is open to anyone. Creating an account to comment, bookmark, or like content requires that you are at least 16 years old, or of the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction.

By creating an account you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you are not impersonating another person.

§ 03Your account

  • One account per person — multiple accounts are discouraged and may be merged or removed without notice.
  • Keep your credentials private — you are responsible for activity performed while signed in as you. Notify us at our contact form if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • You may close your account at any time from the Settings → Danger zone page. Deletion is permanent and effective within 30 days (see the Privacy Policy for data retention).
  • We may suspend an account that materially breaches these Terms, is used to abuse other readers, or is used for automated scraping.

§ 04Content and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, all editorial content published on the Site (text, illustrations, diagrams, code examples, logos) is protected by copyright and belongs to Wecon or its contributors. You may:

  • Read, share, and quote reasonable excerpts (under ~150 words) with attribution and a link to the original article.
  • Save articles to your personal bookmarks.
  • Translate excerpts for non-commercial commentary, with the same attribution.

You may not, without prior written permission:

  • Republish full articles on another site, paywall, or newsletter.
  • Use Wecon’s name, logo, or trademarks commercially.
  • Train machine-learning models on the Site’s content at scale. See our machine-readable llms.txt for attribution requirements.

§ 05User-submitted content

When you post a comment, you grant Wecon a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display, moderate, and anonymise that content on the Site. You keep ownership of what you write.

By posting, you confirm that:

  • The content is yours or you have permission to share it.
  • It does not infringe third-party rights, defame anyone, incite hate or violence, or constitute harassment.
  • It is not spam, machine-generated at scale, or commercial promotion.

We moderate comments and reserve the right to edit lightly for formatting, to hide, or to remove anything that breaches these rules — at our sole discretion. Repeat or serious violations may lead to account suspension.

§ 06Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Probe, scan, or stress-test the Site without written consent.
  • Scrape content with automated tools at a rate that disrupts service. Feeds (RSS, Atom, JSON) are the intended machine-readable interface.
  • Upload malware, attempt to exploit vulnerabilities, or bypass access controls.
  • Circumvent rate limits or automated abuse protections.
  • Use the Site to harass other readers or contributors.

If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to our contact form. We do not prosecute good-faith research that respects user data and service availability.

§ 07Availability and changes

We do our best to keep the Site online and fast, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may add, remove, or change features, articles, or these Terms at any time. Material changes to these Terms will be announced at least 14 days before they take effect.

§ 09Liability

We provide the Site “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wecon is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for (i) personal injury or death caused by our negligence, (ii) fraud, or (iii) any liability that cannot be excluded under Moroccan law.

§ 10Data protection

Your personal data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy. Please read it — it explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your rights under the GDPR.

§ 11Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Moroccan law. Any dispute arising from your use of the Site will be submitted to the competent courts of [Casablanca / Rabat], without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.

Before bringing a dispute to court, we encourage you to contact us at our contact form so we can try to resolve it amicably. Consumers in the EU may also use the Online Dispute Resolution platform.

§ 12Contact

For general, privacy, security, or legal matters, please use our contact form. Mention the topic in the subject so we can route your message to the right desk.
